we publish stories, essays, and poems. look at our features page to see what kind of thing we like.

we currently pay £40 for fiction over 1k words, £15 for flash fiction, £15 for poems. reviews and reviews of reviews are accepted as generous gifts from the reviewer. no pitches please, only send finished reviews of either 300, 500, or 1,000 words (third-page, half-page, full-page).

submit your work via email as a .doc file, 12pt double-spaced. do not add extraneous line breaks, indents, or spacing. no sf, horror, or fantasy. anyone using AI will be blacklisted.

death kit reserves the right to make minor edits and adjustments to accepted work, in line with our house style. any major edits will be a collaborative effort between editor and author. authors retain copyright to their work, but must credit death kit as its first publication if it is published elsewhere. work submitted to death kit cannot already have appeared elsewhere. by submitting to death kit you confirm that have read and agreed to our terms as laid out above. we look forward to reading your work.
